Silver Mountain Target

2016 brought another state-of-the-art improvement to the range. Winnequah Gun Club teamed up with Siver Mountain Targets and received donations from Brux Barrels, Krieger Barrels, Inc. and Criterion Barrels, Inc.  to install an electronic scoring system on the 32 targets located on the High Power range.

Before Starting Construction

Just a typical rifle range pit. No Power, No electonics, and no network.

Control Electronics

First was to install sensor mouting brackets, control panels, conduit and network cabling, a lot of cabling.

Correcting Existing Shooting Points

Existing shooting points did not aline with the current targets from yard line to yard line, changes had to be made. To add four more targets to the north and bring the shooting points closer to alinement, the 1000 yard shooting points needed to shift to the south about 80 feet.

3500 Foot Trench

SMT (Silver Mountain Targets) runs on a network. Having none, one needed to be added. The first step was to run 3500 feet of power and fiber optic cable from the pits to the stats office. Thank's to Lowe Manufctureing, they provided a trencher and operator for the day.

USPSA Area 5

In addition to the Silver Mountain System, Match Director Dan Pawlak brought the USPSA Area 5 match to WInnequah Gun Club for the first time. Area 5 is made up of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

The match had 294 competitors shooting 14 stages with a minimum round count of 319. That's 94,000 rounds shot over four days.
